Tamana city is known as the place of blessing. In the Yayoi period, they exchanged with the continent and made a lot of ancient tombs. Also, you can see traces of Seinan-no-eki. Now, Tamana is located on the roots of the Shoudai-san. It's full of beauty of nature, culture, and history.

Eating

Chinese noodles: Tamana Chinese noodles are said to be the starting point of Tonkotsu Chinese noodles.Tonkotsu is a kind of soup that on the basis of some pig bones. The soup is milky and heavy. Famous restaurants are Tenkin, Dairin, Hakuryu and others.
Curry restaurant: The restaurant is called bisunu. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Takase-kura. When you enter the restaurant, you will feel the Indian mood because the rooms are decorated with many Indian goods. They have many kinds of curry and nan bread.

Tenkin (Noodle)

I want to introduce the Tnkotu Noodle shop "Tenkin" which is famous in Tamana. This shop has had the tradition of Tonkotu for about 50 years. And the taste of this noodle is very delicious. So Many visit here. I will teach you how to go there. First of all, find " kokudou 208 (Route 208). Next, go straight on in the route to Tamana. Then you will be able to "Takase Ohashi Bridge". If you find it, go staraight on about 200 meter. Then you will be able to find the "Tenkin".

Tamana hot spring was once called Ryuganji hot spring. This hot spring has sprung since 700. The color is clear.The benefits of a hot spring bath are rheumatism and neuralgia.

Festival

Otawara festival: It is a race to roll Otawara, which is straw bag. It is 2.7 meters in diameter, weigh 800 kg. Member are 14. This festival was opened every year.

fire work festival: It is held every summer. About 9000 displayed fireworks and many people come to see this. It is famous in Kumamoto.
