高森温泉館 "Hot Spring"

I would like you to go to the Takamori hot spring first when you come to our town. When you get in the spring outside, you will see a very beautiful mountain view! The Nekodake which is one of rare mountain in Kumamoto will show up in front of you! You can be relax and joy the hot water while you're there. Also, it's reasonable place - it's about 400 yen. (If you live in Takamori, it comes just 200 yen.) Why don't you come over to try it?!!

月廻り温泉"Hot Spring"

Let me introduce what "Tsukimawari Hot Spring" is. I live in senter of Takamori town, and you could find a big traffic there. So it takes about 3 mins from the senter to "Tsukimawari Hot Spring". It is selected one of award in all of Japan and so many visiter came there until now. When I am free of done with school early, I go there often and take two hours or so. It's really nice place and the spring is so nice which is real natural spring without articificion. I would like you to go there as well.

高森名物 "Traditional Food"

田楽・生あげ・やまめの塩焼

Do you know what "Dengaku" is? It's like Oden, and with Miso. It made a long time ago in Japan. However it's still liked many people, and also it's handmade. Also, "Yamame" is a famous fish in my town. Usually we bake it and eat with some solt. It's sooooooooo good! It seems simple, but you may not stop to eat it then. And, I think you do know "Age", but it's not a normal age. It taste really soft and if you use soysoce, you won't be able to expain what taste is. Please just eat it! You might buy a "生あげ" at some supermarkets in Kumamoto but it might be fake, I guess. That's why come to TAKAMORI! ;)

湧水トンネル"Sightseeing"

Do you know where the Yuusui tunnel is? It's one of famous place in Takamori. Now, do you have any good rare places in Kumamoto? I researched there how it made up, how it started come up spring or so, when I was a junior high school student. It was very interesting ever now I remember.

In 1983 in December, it started that build for tunnel. It was going to be Takachiho which between Miyazaki and Takamori. It seemed very smooth work just then. However 4 years later, an accident happened in February. When people who built the tunnel were doing work, suddenly spring came up there which was a deluge. So, they were very surprised! At the same time, they noticed that it wouldn’t be tunnel anymore. After that, it is important of our town because it has a part to save a lot of water, also the source of river.

As a result, the tunnel is 2,055 meter. The spring is coming up 32 ton every minute. We can go into until 550 maters. In side is kind of cold, you will find water pearl which is a wonderful view, also it will show up down in front of you. So, it became a nice place!!! Can you imagine how nice park is?

Nowadays, they're having big events twice a year which is the Star festival and Christmas festival. Not only many people living in kumamoto, but also the other in wherever is coming for these evens. The tunnel makes us relax. If you have never been there, you should go there! You will love it for sure! Please enjoy here in Takamori! :)

山登り"Activities"

As you can see, there are some mountains in Aso. It's called "阿蘇五岳". You can hike, climed or just look around. You can do whatever you want here. Many people who are from the other prefecture or all over the world visit there. The most beautiful season is fall because you could see so many color on it which is great forest there. Japan has a lot of mountain and also you might have been somewhere also like there but there're different! You can't miss it!

根子岳 You can see the mountain whilst you bathe in the water from 月廻り温泉. You will be surprising how beautiful it is.

Kusasenri

I want to introduce "Kusasennri" in Takamori. Takamori has so large natuture. You can touch it there. You can see splendid sightseeing, animal,and so on. And so I recommend you to ride on rope way. You will be able to see all the Aso from there.
