Geography
Koshi city is located on northeast in Kumamoto, and the total area is 53.17 square kilometers. (East-west about 12 kilometers, South-north about 8 kilometers) North area is expand many vast farmland. Population is 53283(Man: 25663, Woman: 27620. 2006.Oct). 2006 February, Koshi town and Nishigoshi town merged.

- 1966.10.1 Nishigoshi village become Nishigoshi town
- 2006.2.27 Koshi town and Nishigoshi town merged, and become Koshi city.
