Toge no chaya is Toge no chaya is one of the historical parks on Mt. Kinbo. There were two teahouses long ago when Souseki Natsume visited the area. One of the teahouses appeared in his novel "Kusamakura".In 1989, the teahouse was restore to original state.Now, there are a rest house and a resturant called Dagojiruya. The restaurant serves dagojiru, their most popular dish, for 650 yen, as well as other set meals. It is a popular stop for people out for a hike or a drive.

  • Natsume Souseki Kinenkan

Soseki Natsume is very famous person in japan. He came to Kumamoto as an English teacher in Kumamoto in April, 1896. And he had your house, and left a lot of mement. The memento of Soseki is exhibited in those days in a Western-style room. So you can see his mement there. You can see his house in Tsuboi.
