• Chiran Tokko Heiwa Kaikan (link in Japanese) (The museum about kamikazi pilots)

When the War in the Pacific happen, Chiran was the place of sortie, so the museum was built in there. 1,035 commandos took off from here and they didn't come back. There are 4 combats and 1,036 photograph of a deceased commandoes and a lot of relics. Many boys did sortie for the country.

• Green Tea

Chiran is one of the most famous place about production of green tea. The tea is one of the famous brand, so the tea got a many prize about green tea. The good tea is made by warm weather and a long hours of sunlight in Chiran. It's said that the origin is the Kamakura period, but full-dress production was begun in the Meiji period.

• Buke Yashiki (Old Samurai residences)

There are some old Samurai residences, so it's calld "little Kyoto in Satsuma". "Satsuma" is old name of Kagoshima. Old Samurai residences has beautiful hedge and stone fence.
