Green land
There is one of the biggest amusement park in Kyushu. It's called Green Land. My school is near the park. It takes about four minutes on foot. We can see its ferrious wheel from our ground.
[Mitsui Greenland] is a famous theme park in Kumamoto. 'Ferris wheel' is very big and the view is the best about it.
'NIO' is very very scary and exciting thrill rides. I think it is the most popular ride here.
Of course there are other magnetic rides; for example, Ultra Twister MEGATON.
The main feature is the angle of fall, it is almost 90 degrees (85 degrees)!!! It brings you a crazy excitement!!!

After playing Green land, if you afford to stay in a hotel, you can get a great one near there!
The name is "Hotel VELDE" which is an official hotel of Green land. About 5 min. walking takes you there.
The price is experience (¥8,000 ~ ¥13,000 / in the case of ADULT, one-night and a breakfast), but I am sure that you will have a good night.
Food
There are good places to have lunch or dinner. First of all, I introduce people Sharara. This restaurant is very poplar because of parfait. There are all kinds of parfait and they are 100. So, it is difficult to decide what you eat.
Shopping
When you go shopping in Arao, there are some useful malls near Green land and the border between Arao city and Omuta city (in Fukuoka).
The former is "Arao city mall" loved by the local people well. There are "You-me town", "Best Denki" (Electric appliance store), Book store, DIY store, so you can buy anything you want, I think.
Moreover, the mall has food courts and game arcades, and they bring you and children good time.
The latter is "Rock-town". It's newer and also has stores as good as the former.
